Identifying the FRUIT of... False Prophets

"A Behind the Scenes" look at their common theatrics and motives --cheers!
To begin with, I'd like to preface this article by first saying that I certainly believe we should take the time to carefully and scripturally examine our leaders and their teachings --BEFORE rejecting them with the final "False Prophet" stamp.  Such labels should never be hastily placed, however, one should certainly NEVER FEAR to promptly call out something for EXACTLY WHAT IT IS.  As "ridiculous" as most of our modern-day False Prophets and Teachers have become (as they parade their theatrics to anyone who will listen or allow them the "air time" or platform to further their shamed charade); the business of those who usurp their authority and lord over God's people is very serious in the eyes of God.  Not to mention the damage that is created in the lives of members who lovingly trust those in leadership positions.   With that being said, we should carefully judge leaders by examining their FRUIT -Which is their Lifestyle, their Teachings, and their Motivation.  We rightfully do so by using the guidelines of Holy Scripture and our Discernment to to reveal the TRUE FRUIT --then boldly proceed to EXPOSE the Charismatic Wolves AND their Teachings accordingly.

Prophets are NOT simply those who run around from conference to conference "predicting future events" on a full-time basis.  This is a common misconception.  A PROPHET (nabi`) is one who speaks for another, or one who lends his voice to another.  A Prophet is one who has a message from God to His church.  In illustration, a King will either communicate directly to His people or by way of His appointed messenger.  By every right, Prophets are not only "foretelling", but they are "forthtelling" --as they speak the Word of the Lord in order to edify, exhort, and comfort the people.  They are presenters of God's message to an individual, group, nation, or generation.
Why is this so vital Because when we allow False Prophets and their Messages to remain "unchecked", their seducing influence easily slips in among the rest of the Body of Believers and causes great damage to their FAITH.   Likewise, how much more damage is caused to the Ministers (and their members) who “sit under” these False Leaders and are forced to adhere to AN UNGODLY CHURCH STRUCTURE ruled by “Egypt-Like” AUTHORITARIAN DICTATORS?  *Jesus doesn’t take it lightly when His children are subjected to slave labor camps and are finally FREED…only to find the enemy chasing after them filled with anger and vengeance –Well you all know the end of THAT story!

I certainly don't write this article to create an unhealthy suspicion of every leader within the Body of Christ.  For surely, God sends qualified leaders who FEAR Him and are dedicated to the edification of the Body.  However, QUALIFICATIONS are NOT indefinitely met at the “Starting Line” nor are they met because a “TITLE” is given by man.  Biblical Qualifications MUST be continually met in order to function in a God-Given Ministry Gift (such as Bishop.)  With that being said, we should ALL continue to “check our motives”, walk in humility, and speak the truth in love...

Throughout the scriptures of the Old and New Testament, we are given several examples of Righteous Leaders and False Leaders who have passed through the corridors of time.  Same tricks/gimmicks, different generation.  If such false prophets had the audacity to come face to face with the likes of Elijah and then later with the very Apostles of the Lamb….How much more shall we deal with them now?!  With that being said, the Apostle Paul called out these "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" openly and directly.  As he began to see the depths of the devastation it caused first hand, he did not cease to endlessly warn those living in his generation...and relentlessly wrote to warn the generations to come.

TIME FOR THE AMERICAN CHURCH TO WAKE UP--
Allow me to ask you a question --"Where do you think False Prophets are??  Outside the church walls?  In other parts of the world?  Only in Mosques, Watchtowers, Koresh Camps, or Mormon Compounds?   Why would Satan plant his tares away from the wheat??  False Prophets are not only in the world...they are in our  churches.  What would be the most effective way for Satan to silence or distort the Only Truth, that can ultimately bring Everlasting Life to a world lost in darkness

According to scripture, we are clearly warned of the days when False Teachers will run rampant and even "accepted" among the elect.  READ Mark 13:22  --JESUS Himself warned us that false Christs and false prophets would appear and perform signs and miracles TO deceive the elect!  Again, where do you think this could happen?  --Should we then retreat and stick our head in the sand for the sake of fear and uncertainty?!  God forbid.  Instead, we should study the scriptures even more so to show ourselves approved --rightly dividing the Word of Truth.  Contending for the Faith…Proclaiming the Message of the Pure Gospel at all costs….knowing the days are short and many lives are hanging in the balance on OUR WATCH"Teaching establishes us, but warning protects us."

Jude 1:3, 4 – “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that YE SHOULD EARNESTLY CONTEND FOR THE FAITH which was once delivered unto the saints.  For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have SECRETLY SLIPPED IN AMONG YOU... "

It is evident that the inspired Jude had intended to write a treatise unto these brethren about the "Common Salvation" but because of the presence of FALSE TEACHERS, he wrote this short epistle exhorting them to contend for the faith. No doubt, had Jude written on the common salvation, he would have pointed out that salvation is common to all in that salvation is available to all, both Jew and Gentile, male and female.  Since doctrinal corruption can ultimately cause one to forfeit one's salvation (Gal. 5: 1-4, Col. 2: 7-9), the necessity of "contending for the faith" is of the utmost importance.

(This article is really only a quick introduction to the scriptural guidelines that define those who parade around on hijacked platforms as --"God's Spokesmen".)
----------------------
Revealing the FRUIT of False Prophets

FRUIT is not discerned by our 5 natural senses, nor is it defined intellectually -it must be SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED.  Paul wrote, “But he WHO IS SPIRITUAL judges all things... comparing “spiritual things” with spiritual.”  (I Cor.2:15, 13)

Let’s start by defining the (2) Sources of Deception Jesus described:

1FALSE CHRISTS (or antichrists):  Those who DENY that Jesus Christ, Son of God, came in the flesh as a natural man.  They claim He was always divine and therefore never really died.  “For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an ANTICHRIST. Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.”  (2 John 1:7-8)

2)  FALSE PROPHETS (grouped in 2 categories):

•Those who acts as Spokesmen for God, proclaiming another way to God that goes AROUND Jesus Christ instead of THROUGH Him.

For example:  Those who don’t necessarily deny that Christ could be “a way” to the Father for some, but that “other roads” also exist as a means of leading people to God.  John 14:6 “Jesus answered, I am THE WAY and THE TRUTH and THE LIFE. No one comes to the Father EXCEPT through me.”

**(OUR FOCUS)**

The 2nd group of False Prophets are harder to recognize.  THEY ARE IN THE CHURCH, and if unchecked they can deceive even the elect (the saints).  They are among us, carrying the same Bible, accompanied by supernatural gifts, yet they mislead by drawing people to themselves instead of to the heart and rule of God.

Matt. 24:11, 24  “And many FALSE PROPHETS shall rise, and shall deceive many.”  “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”

Acts 20:29-31  “I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.”   -Paul the Apostle of Jesus Christ

A quick word on WOLVES
They always run in packs and are territorial. If there is an abundance of prey, several packs may have overlapping territories. Each pack has a pair of leaders, known as the “alpha pair”. These are the only animals in the pack that breed.  Hmmm….

Notice Paul says they come “as wolves”.  Jesus described these false prophets as wolves in sheep’s clothing.  NOTICE –He did not say SHEPHERD’S clothing; therefore they may or may not have a public ministry.  (All full-time pulpit ministers should be believers, yet not all believers are full-time pulpit ministers.)

Wolves think only of themselves –If obedience doesn’t interfere with the fulfillment of THEIR AGENDA they will submit, thereby making it difficult at times to distinguish them from believers.  This is why Jesus said that they can ONLY be identified by THEIR FRUIT, since APPEARANCES can seem so similar to the untrained eye.

So……What do we use as a guideline to rightly divide between the True and the False?

ACCURACY?
•Jesus never said that a true prophet is identified solely by the fact that his/her words are accurate or came to pass.  However, inaccuracy is certainly a sign that God was not involved.  Don’t allow “accuracy” to cloud your discernment.

•A “prophet” can speak a word (and it could come to pass) but he is to be REJECTED if he leads you into IDOLATRY, COVETOUSNESS, OR REBELLION.  Please take a moment to think about that….  From this we learn that ACCURACY alone does not delineate the TRUE from the FALSE.  Balaam had a genuine gift on his life, but CORRUPTED IT with his DESIRE FOR GAIN.  He was a FALSE PROPHET.
(Example)  BALAAM –a corrupt prophet with a covetous heart –prophesied an accurate word over Israel and predicted the birth of the Messiah.  (You know..the guy in Numbers with the talking donkey?)  His words are recorded in Scripture.  Even though his prophetic words were accurate, HIS FRUIT WAS BAD.  Jesus said that he “taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality” (Rev. 2:14)  Balaam was offered substantial wealth if he would curse Israel, but he was not able to curse those God blessed.  After this realization, he taught King Balak how to snare the children of Israel and place them under a curse --by enticing them to sin by offering them sex, wine, and entertainment.  He did this to retain the reward!  Balaam had chosen money over God; he was just looking for God to back him up.  HIS FRUIT led the people into judgment.  24,000 Israelites died from the plague that judged their disobedience.  Baalam’s prophecies were accurate, but his fruit proved to be ungodly.  He mixed the precious with the vile.  Therefore, the children of Israel were commanded to kill him in battle.

PREACHING “TRUTH”?
•Remember Jesus mentioned picking grapes from thornbushes and figs from thistles.  Is this possible?  Of course not!  HOWEVER, you certainly could hang a cluster of grapes ON a thornbush, or place a fig AMONG thistles.  Likewise, quite often a true word or action may be found among false prophets…but it probably DID NOT originate with them.  This explains God’s rebuke through Jeremiah:
“Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” says the Lord, “who STEAL MY WORDS every one from his neighbor.”  (Jer. 23:30)

The word was not produced in their mouths nor was it cultivated in their hearts.  They simply stole the words of another, who got if from another, who got it from another, and so forth back to its origin –from the mouth of the one who truly walked with God.  Their words did not come from intimate communion with the Lord bathed in an atmosphere of holy fear (Ps. 25:14).

GIFTING?
•A false prophet will always use the GIFTING the Holy Spirit has entrusted to him, to carry out his own purposes.  God is not an “indian giver”.  These false prophets will continue to use their gifting as a vehicle to draw others to themselves in order to further their cause --whether it is financial gain, power, recognition, influence, or acceptance.  The false prophet deceives HIMSELF by distorting scriptures to fulfill or support his DESIRES.  So GIFTING (especially) should NEVER be used to indicate whether someone is still a true minister of the Gospel.

•Most "ministers" often fly under the radar by simply using their  Gift of Discernment to operate.  They do this by READING THE DESIRES of your heart..and then proceed to put a "thus saith the Lord" God is going to give you a new business --making it to appear like a TRUE Word from God.   "WOW!  He just read my mail!...I must sow $100 into his ministry now!!"

$PEAKING OF MONEY....JESUS instructed us to -
EXAM THE FRUIT of the Prophet’s LIFE and MINISTRY:

MOTIVE (as seen in the example of Balaam above)

Jesus always focused on motive, because motive will ALWAYS reveal itself in the FRUIT.

Matt. 7:15-23  Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.  By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.  A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.  Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.  Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’  Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

A FALSE PROPHET IS one who comes in His name with his OWN AGENDA.  His agenda may be packaged in ministry, but the underlying motive is GAIN, PROMOTION, and OR REWARD.  These concealed and hidden motives not only deceive others, but the prophet as well.  Paul warned, “Impostors will grow worse and worse, DECEIVING and BEING DECEIVED” (2 Tim. 3:13)

HOW DO TRUE PROPHETS TURN FALSE?
A possibility is that they once walked with God and received revelation from Him.  Then their hearts grew cold, as in the case of Balaam.  Peter confirmed this:  “They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam.”

Scripture describes those who fall away as “late autumn trees without fruit”. (Jude 11-12)  That season is past and winter is before them.  Their leaves drop off as they slip into a dormant sleep.

----No mater what the case, there is a common denominator of all false prophets:  “From the least even to the greatest everyone is given to COVETOUSNESS.” (Jer. 8:10)  THEY ARE SELF-SEEKING.

Results of False Prophets/Leaders:
“But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will SECRETLY INTRODUCE DESTRUCTIVE HERESIES, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.  Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.  IN THEIR GREED these teachers WILL EXPLOIT YOU with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.”  (2 Pet. 2:1-3)

What is a HERESY?  W.E. Vine defines this word as “that which is chosen, and hence, an opinion (especially a self-willed opinion), which is SUBSTITUTED FOR SUBMISSION to the power of Truth!  Wow..that explains a lot doesn't it?!

How do false teachers bring heresies in secret? “Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are CORRUPT and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted.  Such people claim they know God, but THEY DENY HIM BY THE WAY THEY LIVE. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good.”  (Titus 1:15,16)

Which brings us to our final point:
THEIR LIFESTYLE REFLECTS THEIR DENIAL OF CHRIST

To be corrupt is to have been polluted.  From the above scripture we learn it is NOT their confession, but their WAY OF LIFE that denies the Lord.  Remember Jesus said by their fruits we will know them, not by what they say –not even if they call Him Lord.  For with their mouths they confess the lordship of Jesus, prophesy, and do wonders in His name, yet they are not submitted to His lordship or authority.

HEARTS TRAINED IN COVETOUSNESS:
Covetousness is the desire for gain; it is never being content in your present state.  2 Peter says that they have “a heart trained in covetous practices.”  When you are trained in something, you can do it without thinking.  It becomes second nature.  When we first learned to tie our shoes it was awkward and required our focused attention.  Now we do it without thinking.  We are trained.  With someone trained in covetousness the same is true.

Consider "Exhibit A":  Where the famous “the love of money is the root of all evil” scripture is located below in Timothy...

Warning Timothy against False Teachers of the Law--
"As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God’s work—which is by faith.”  (I Tim. 1:3, 4)

One of the false teachings that sprang up during this era was Gnosticism. It was based on a belief that there was secret knowledge not available to most people (Gnostic means "knowledge"). One aspect of this was the use of genealogies to prove various ideas. Some commentators believe that Paul is alluding to the early disputes that gave rise to Gnosticism.

False Teachers and the Love of Money--
“These are the things you are to teach and insist on.  If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions  and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.  But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”  (I Tim. 6: 3-10)

Paul was writing to Timothy to encourage and teach him how to properly deal with the false teachers who were undermining Timothy’s work in EphesusNot only were false teachers claiming that there were “special” secrets of knowledge/revelation not available to most people, but they were also teaching that godliness equates financial gain.

In modern times, “Consultants” (or in this case experts in greed) are often hired in and mix the precious with the vile for the sake of “church growth”.  What ever happened to the voice of the Holy Spirit as our “consultant”?  You will find many marketing companies who are happy to help ministries come up with clever ways to get money.  Twisted Scriptures hide covetous desiresGUILT and FEAR will also be used as methods to manipulate and enslave the members mentally and emotionally to keep feeding the business church.  Paul prophetically glimpsed this and wrote, “They act as if they are religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.  You must stay away from people like that.  They are the kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence of vulnerable women…” (2 Tim. 3:5, 6 NLT)  However, today it is not only the women who are vulnerable.

**This article is really only scratching the surface on the subject of False Teachers and Prophets among the church.  However, I want to reiterate the most important difference between a True and False Prophet:  A false prophet uses his God-entrusted gifts to draw others to himself.  A true prophet draws them to the heart and rule of God.

When you leave the meeting of a TRUE Prophet (Spokesman to the People of God), you should feel an intense desire to seek God.  His words will either point you back to Jesus or sharpen your present focus.  There will be a new clarity.  In contrast, when you leave the meeting of a false prophet you’ll find yourself wanting to go back for another word any time you need encouragement or direction! There is a danger when we embrace another mediator outside of Christ.

Why are so many deceived?
Paul explained that the reason so many are easily misled in these latter days is because they “did not receive the LOVE OF THE TRUTH” (2 Thess. 2:10).  The LOVE OF TRUTH sharpens our discernment and keeps us error free.  Those who have developed this love of truth, will never elevate a gift above God’s wisdom.

If we are to walk free from the deception and “acting roles” of False Prophets, we must allow the Holy Spirit to develop a consuming love for truth deep within us.  How does one arrive at such a place?  It is found in trusting the FAITHFULNESS of GODnot man

David wrote:   “Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:  He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.  Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him…” (Psalm 37:3-7)

  2. Well written!!!

This scripture really "leaped off the page".
It's from Chapter 2 of Thessalonians warning about the Great Apostasy.
    Beginning in verse 9 ...
"The coming of the "lawless one" is according to the working of satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who persih ~ because they did not receive the "LOVE OF THE TRUTH", that they might be saved.
And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

I'm a business owner/marketplace minister and while reading through this article, Holy Spirit convicted me of covetousness.
    I had to repent.
I love the Truth. I love the Word. I love Jesus Christ(who is Truth). I love that He corrects me.

Thank you for taking the time to write this publish this article!

  3. Great Post!

The Bible says in the book of Revelation that the SPIRIT or very essence of prophecy is the testifying or testimony of Jesus. Who He was, what He did for the World, and that is the litmus test of a prophet.

A TRUE Prophet, in whatever they say or do, will always lift up and emphasize the salvation of the world by Jesus Christ and glorify and edify Him alone.

He will not draw attention to himself or his supposed gift or title. It's really easy if we are paying attention to see how false many of these people are because the emphasis is on what THEY can do for you if you do this rather than what Jesus already did for you if you simply accept His salvation by FAITH ALONE and not any work you did or try to do.

I went to this place for 5 plus years and I will have to say that after I left I had to unlearn 90% of what I was taught because it was false.

After I got the pastoral boot (lol), I opened my Bible for myself and learned more about Jesus in 2 weeks then I ever did at this place.

I am blessed in every area of my life not because of what I do or don't do, but by faith alone in what Jesus did. It's very simple and hard for some of us to grasp that are so entrenched in works to attain blessings in life.

Keep is simple. The spririt of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus.

  4. Keep these coming. Each article gets a little more powerful (if that is possible). Interestingly enough, I have been pondering the Huskins manifesting oil. Fruit of the Spirit showing his "drunkenness" or some bizarre twist to the bottle of olive oil on the stage.

    Then I ran across this:

  5. Part 1
Excellent article. So many points of truth about things we are seeing in the church today from so called prophets who come not for godly gain, but for self-seeking & financial gain for themselves & the wolves they run with.

Points that stand out to me in regard to CStone & MP:

First, wolves run in packs. Let's look at the pack MP currently runs with & has run with in the past. Earl Paulk, Carlton Pearson, Roberts Liardon, Larry Lea - all have fallen into gross sin and false teaching & have promoted controversies, rather than God's work as this article has stated.

The current pack of wolves include Paula White, TD Jakes, Eddie Long & David Huskins, among others. Each of these draws attention to their gifts & ministry for the purpose of receiving money in the guise of seed offerings to gain something. That is always lurking in their "awesome revelation" to the sheep - God has told them to ask for $100 or whatever amount to seal the word of their revelation & for the sheep to prove their faith toward what has been preached.

God does not need a seed offering to prove our faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, not seed offerings. If they "need money for the church", then why don't they just come out & say that & take up an offering. Oh, I know why, because it wouldn't make them look all powerful & blessed & who would want to give just to give & not get - how boring & common... Timothy had it right when he said to be aware of those who think that godliness is a means of financial gain.

Beware, false prophets use the Word deceptively for their gain. As the above article states, false prophets use their gifts not only for financial gain, but also to gain power, influence, recognition, or acceptance.

Over the years MP has come to crave all of those things as he has become like the wolves he runs with & needs all of those things from them. Where is his contentment as he is ever seeking higher levels & dimensions, titles & positions? What is it about his life that he can't be content with where he is at & with what he has? And why must he always tell his sheep to seek higher levels? Levels of what & how do you ever know when you've arrived - because you get more stuff or a job promotion or a new house? Please, that is not even remotely close to what Jesus preached.

Our focus is not to be on the blessing, but the One who paid the price for us to receive the blessing, whether we ever get the blessing or not. We should seek Jesus & a deeper relationship with Him, not the blessings. And in seeking Him, not false prophets & their revelation, all these things shall be added unto us as He wills, not as we manipulate to get them to make us look more spiritual.

  6. Part 2
It's interesting that over the years, MP has increasingly sought more power, influence, recognition & acceptance & the wolves he runs with all assuage one another's egos & gifts & ministries. Each one "elevates" the other. As the author of the article also states, the false prophets seldom create an intense desire for the people to seek God. Instead, they create an intense desire in the sheep to get back to church & hear the next great word from the false prophet - "Oh, what a great service & word Bishop had today. It was powerful - wow." Powerful for what? Because they got feel good goose bumps & somebody supposedly influenced by the Holy Spirit ran around the church. Really, who cares? They are merely drawing attention to themselves in doing so & are merely looking to get recognition from someone on the platform who then uses that as a "confirmation" that the presence of the Holy Ghost is strong in the house. Where in the Bible did anyone run around because the presence of the Holy Spirit was all over them? What happened to doing things decently & in order?

In getting caught up in all of this self-seeking behavior, people lose all sensibility & ablility to think for themselves or to properly discern in the spirit that something is amiss according to the Word of God. Instead, they love the emotional buzz they get from all of the entertainment & false appearance of godliness.

Godliness with contentment is great gain, not a "Holy Ghost buzz that causes people to run around or jump all over the place & become mesmerized (under the influence of false prophets & the entertainment they bring).

On a final note, I found it interesting that in the story of Balaam, the author of the article mentions sex, wine & entertainment as the tools to deceive the people and snare them into sin & eventually the curse. Wow! All of those things have been running rampant through CStone's headship in the past several years. And as we all know, what is on the head flows down. Not exactly the kind of covering I want over my life.

Sheep beware!! All is not as it seems in the house at CStone... What influence are you willing to come under for the sake of the blessing, supposed special anointing & deep revelation? Test the spirits & run when even a hint of deception of any kind appears. That is what God's Word tells us to do.

  7. Very well written article and a completely accurate portrayal of how FALSE PROPHETS operate. As a former member of Cornerstone, I remember MP ranting about people "prostituting the Gifts of the Spirit." It seems that is exactly what is happening there. Using the Gifts of the Spirit to futher the "vision" of MP, instead of fulfilling the Great commision.

"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” "

It is interesting that Jesus said not to just make disciples, he told them to teach them to obey ALL that he had commanded them to do. It doesnt seem that the obey all of Jesus' commandments part is being taught at Cornerstone. Case in Point....How about the commandment to Love and Serve one another. I was a member there for 10 years, serving in three ministries simultaniously, but in the time of my greatest need, I was never even asked if there was anything that anyone could do that would help me. We are talking about the darkest hours that I have ever faced, involving one of my children. Just a "Hey, we will pray for you..." That is not love or service. That is like telling someone that is starving that you will pray for them. How about you share your meal with them, or buy them some groceries. Here is a novel Idea....Lend a hand to someone in need. This wasn't just the leadership, it was the body of CS as well. Why? Because they are taught about higher levels and dimensions, breakthrough and SHIFT. Scripture teaches us that God is a God of relationships, that means that life can get messy. So as much as you may have heard at CS about mentorship, you never got it from the pastors. I was once told by a very wise pastor there, that is now gone..."people don't get mentored here unless it is for business." Two months later we were both gone from that place. It has been four years now and I am freer, healthier, and more content that I was the entire time I was there.

Thank you for this blog!!!! It is nice to share our experiences and feelings, because they are real, and they did happen. We are not complaining, we are voicing and valadating that we were abused, and keeping a secret or not acknowledging it does not make it go away or mean that it didn't happen. As a survivor of sexual abuse, it took me thirty years to tell anyone about it. But that step was the first in my healing and recovery.

Hello friend –no worries, my reply to you won’t be hateful or mean spirited. Because the "us vs. them” propaganda no longer exists, for those who are free…

It seems you are angry that others are sharing their experiences and seeking healing from a spiritually abusive church. I too can remember feeling the need to “defend” my Pastor for several years. I also learned to soothe away all my questions by playing that “no one’s perfect” card as well. After awhile, I realized that there is a difference between perfection and accountability. It’s a tough place to be and I understand. But once you start studying your Word, you find that a true Shepherd never drives his sheep…he never dominates the sheep for his own purposes. A True Shepherd, gives his life for his sheep.

It’s a liberating thing to be set free from the FEAR of a spiritually abusive church. Please don’t take my word alone….Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you the attributes of a true shepherd. God bless...

  10. To Anonymous Nov.17 @ 11:47am,

Great post. You speak much truth in that we have to unlearn 90% of what we were taught @ the Stone when we leave. It is truly a deprogramming of sorts & most certainly a time of seeking and searching for real truth.

I remember the first church I attended after leaving CStone. During the praise & worship, they were singing about the blood of Jesus. I just wept because it had been so long I had heard anything about the blood of Jesus @ CStone and all that it had done for us. It was such a pure spirit of worship & my spirit was renewed & refreshed by the simplicity of the Word and keeping it all about what Jesus has done for us.

Let's keep this dialogue going as it is much needed for continued healing and restoration of the lost sheep of CStone who have now been found and are being cared for by the true Shepherd.

By all means get into the Word for yourself, especially the gospels to see exactly how Jesus lived and what He taught - the whole gospel, not just a phrase or two to justify twisted aka "anointed" theology.

Keep up the awesome articles and blog comments and let us pray for one another as we move on in Jesus.

So sorry your spiritual feathers have been ruffled. So, according to you if we speak truth & share our experiences from a church that fosters spiritual & often emotional abuse, we are not acting our age - interesting.

I think it takes a very mature person to share of their hurtful experiences in life & what they have learned from them. It also takes a mature person to warn others of impending spiritual dangers & shipwreck. The Bible is clear about us doing that.

As to your reference of perfection, if you look at the biblical definition of perfection, it refers to maturity. When we become mature, we put away childish things & behavior. We are to flee(run as fast as you can)from youthful lusts (2 Tim.2:22)

Our imperfections do not give us the right to excuse & overlook bad behavior from one another as well as those in leadership. Merely saying no one is perfect makes it too easy to sit back in immaturity & make excuses, or better yet, become bitter & accusatory of those "outside" who try to expose truth, sin & the lies of a church caught up in false teaching and un-Christlike behavior toward others, both in their flock and outside their flock, no matter how much other "good" they do.

And to answer your question why are we so concerned about this church, it's because the majority of us have attended for 5-20+ years & still have friends & loved ones who attend there. We aren't merely gossiping & telling mistruths as you elude to in your defensive behavior of MP & his kingdom.

Sometimes when you are lost in the forest, you can't see the trees. In other words, you can be too close to dysfunction & too codependently attached to it, to the point that your vision narrows & you lose all perspective of anything outside of your tunnel vision.

When I left CStone & my spiritual diet changed & I received different food, my spirit, mind & emotions fluorished. As MP has always preached, too much of the same food is not good for you. That applies to his "sons & daughters" of his "house" as well. They are spiritually sick because of an imbalance of spiritual food.

Get out & experience the banquet of God's Word, not the same old new levels, new devils, shift and all that other deep crap otherwise known as shift.

On a final note, I beg to differ that it's because of christians like "us" who "talk about others" that "make christians look like idiots". Your thought processes are very stunted & your vocabulary is limited when you speak so harshly about "us". We are not talking about others; we are sharing our experiences & concerns as well as truth directly from the Bible.

Furthermore, perhaps it's christians like you who get a "Holy Ghost" buzz & run around the church like you've lost your mind & jump up & down & sing songs about taking dominion that "makes christians look like idiots". It is attention seeking & does not help anyone unsaved to seek out Jesus. It makes them run the other way as if you have lost your sensibilities under the guise of being "taken over" by the presence of the Holy Spirit, & He causes you to act in uncontrollable ways.

Singing & talking about taking dominion over this world & the nations is nonsensical at best. We have dominion over ourselves & our spirit & no one else. Yes, we can deliver others, but that is not what I am talking about here. Half the time with the behavior that is exhibited at CStone, there is little dominion even over their own flesh let alone the nations...get real. If you have so much dominion, why is Toledo still ridden by crime & poverty? You are going to "take the city"... Is your dominion only for Africa??

Read your Bible & see what types of behavior will be exhibited in the last days before Jesus's return. If christians were going to take dominion, there wouldn't be an increase in the behaviors listed in 2 Tim. 3: 1-9.

Kingdom dominion before Jesus returns - I think not. Read the Word! Yea, it all sounds great & makes people feel really powerful & spiritual to say they are going to take dominion, but let's look at the mess right up in the church - where is the dominion? Oh, I forgot, nobody is perfect....Grasshopper speaks out of both sides of mouth.

Take heed: In 2 Tim. 4:2-4: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine... & they will turn their ears away from the truth, & be turned aside to fables.

Interesting that Timothy uses the word fables.

MP always preaches toward those outside the camp of CStone as if it is wrong for them to listen to anyone else who is not approved to speak at CStone. Everything MP preaches applies to his camp as well, so beware! Read your Bible for yourself; study to show yourself approved by God, rightly dividing the word of truth, not given to feel good fables & Holy Ghost buzzes & drunkeness for 85+ days - beam me up Scotty please.

  14. Again..."anonymous". This blog is for those who are former members. We are Speaking the Truth in Love to those who are struggling with the effects of Spiritual Abuse and are trying to move forward. No one needs to “bring Cornerstone down" --they are doing a pretty good job of that on their own wouldn't you say?

IGNORANCE is defined as someone trying to defend something that they have NO knowledge of. So, if you do not have any connection TO Cornerstone…then why do you feel the need TO defend it? You just disqualified yourself from this conversation. I would say that Cornerstone’s reputation in the city of Toledo speaks for itself...it doesn't need any defending. I know, you're still hearing about that "next level" right?

To be quite frank with you, the Pitts are no longer running a NT church...Michael and Robert are running a business with the veneer of “good”. Religious “collars” do not equate the Biblical requirements for a Bishop. It’s like someone still trying to play in a game that they have been EJECTED from. They actually have been “bench warming” for quite some time, they just refuse to acknowledge it. I would say the same applies here. So how is it then that we are making "Christians" look bad? Christians are those who follow the teachings of Christ and bear His fruit.

“Spiritual things are discerned and judged by those who ARE Spiritual”. Otherwise, no answer we offer will be good enough for you. It’s not a matter of PERFECTION, but of Spiritually Discerning the DECEPTION.

  15. Dear Anonymous
We can't fix what we are not willing to acknowledge. If your not a christian, its because you have not accepted the Gospel and received Christ. Not because you run across hurting people looking for answers.

The New Testament is filled with disputes over doctrine, in an attempt to keep heretical teaching out of the church. I agree with "speaking the truth" If you don't have a dog in this fight why have an opinion at all.
My prayer for you is found in Rom. 10:10. Never let the struggles of others, or their pathway to recovery hinder you from excepting Christ as your own savior. We must all deal with our sin issues the same way, between God and us alone. Anonymous be encouraged that God is working with you, otherwise you wouldn't care what us crazy believers are up too,and you certainly wouldn't comment. Your salvation is closer than you know.

    Be Blessed

Are you saying we should ignore all that is/was going on in headship? The people giving "Christians" a bad name - are people like all of us. We all suck at this. That is why we take Jesus into our hearts.

The difference is some people just keep on rolling merrily along in sin. It is hard enough dealing with MY sin, let alone headship who are not repentant who are also supposed to be GUIDING me.

That's just my opinion. Maybe I'm not a good Christian. There was a reason Jesus hated organized religion.

  18. Anonymous, Nov.30th at 11:06... Are you implying that Anonymous, Nov. 30th at 11:01, might actually be Michael??? Granted, the blogging style is eerily similar, and the words that are spoken defend Cornerstone and blame this site... but that would imply that Michael is monitoring this site. It would also imply that he is so frustrated with those whose opinions vary from his that he is willing to use deceptive practices (lying about his identity) in order to shut those opinions down. It also implies that he would be willing to paint himself & Cornerstone as victims of some diabolical plot. He would need to be willing to manipulate others by attempting to make them feel guilty that an unbeliever would reject Christ because of this site; he would, in essence, be willing to blame those dissenters for someone going to hell.
So... to summarize... You are implying that Micheal would practice deception, claim to be a victim, use guilt, and freely, knowingly manipulate others.
I... uh... oh, wait... never mind.

You tell them it's okay to have their cake and eat it too
You traded truth for Godless gain and no one will suspect
You're such a clever counterfeit of all that you reject

    (Chorus)
Pied piper, playin' the tune they want to hear
Putting a tickle in their ear
Pied piper, wanting them all to follow you
Not know where you lead them too
But all the time you're leading them astray

The sheep just sit there grinning as they listen to your lies
Never knowing when you pull the wool over their eyes
You've got them trained to say "How high?" whenever you say "Jump!"
And those who disagree with you, you always seem to stump

  21. To Anon 2:45 Dec.3:

I agree. It seems odd that someone who is not a christian & who does not go to CStone or know anyone there would suddenly stumble upon this site & want to read such in depth articles & make a comment.

To the others who seem to think it is MP - interesting. You obviously know him better than I thought I knew him as my pastor at one time. But then again that's what deceptive people do - they deceive and make things appear to be what they are not.

And the saddest thing of all is that his "global school of ministry" keeps the blind sheep brain-washed & indoctrinated on how to identify the likes of us who are "dissenters' & have left or better yet & even worse, those who remain & disagree w/his doctrine - they are the dangerous ones! I think we are known as Group A's & Group B's.

What will the blind sheep do if,and more likely when MP can't take the heat anymore & cashes in his chips (the sheeple's tithe & offerings)& heads for greener pastures with fresh new sheep to deceive?

BEWARE all who choose to blindly follow a leader who has exhibited multiple character "flaws" (sin aka he's not perfect)& his doctrinal errors. When the time comes for MP to move on as "God calls him to", you'll be blindsided, because at the end of the day, he is not concerned about you, but your money & his power & influence. It will come quickly as a thief in the night & some spiritual explanation will be given to all, along with a statement to make those in shock feel guilty, followed by another spiritual statement about how you should rejoice with him for his blessing because you'll reap the same blessing if you do so (prophet's reward mumbo jumbo).

At the end of the day, it's all about MP & his business empire which his brother RP has built, the anointed and blessed businessman (conman). They just call it a church for obvious reasons.

So, consider yourselves duly warned and don't be surprised at anything that happens & the spiritual/prophetic words (deceit) spoken to justify it.

I pray for the eyes of your spiritual understanding to be opened not clouded by deceptive prophetic words & giftings. Again, look at the true spiritual fruit or lack thereof & move on if you feel God calling you to do so. You will be blessed & perhaps more so for your obedience.

  22. i don't know if i like this blog anymore, because it just reinforces how much cc and mp get under my skin. i can't understand how people can follow these cash cravers. heck, the one pastor i thought was someone not full of bs is driving a brand new lexus, a sweet one at that. i don't think they realize the envy they are receiving, because of their fancy cars, suits, houses, and trips. oh wait, those trips are to go help other churches (yeah right). the thing that drives me nuts is i have heard people there say they don't care what he does with the money, because they already gave it to god. seriously? that just says to me they are too brainwashed to make a rational decision and just move on to a place where the money goes towards the good of god not the pastors wants and needs, personal needs by the way. maybe if mp would have a punch me in the face day at cc, i could possibly move on.

    ReplyDelete
  23. To Anon 7:16 PM,

    Part 1
This is the place to share your thoughts & frustrations and find hope in moving on. It is difficult at first because there is so much anger attached to what we once believed about MP and then when we realized the deception, it was painful. Distrust causes emotional pain which creates anger and depression if it is not identified, worked through and resolved.

What you are experiencing mentally and emotioanlly is normal and will take time to work through. Sharing the truth of our experiences will help to expose the continued chicanery at CStone. We can't do anything but pray & hope that others see the light & move on so to speak.

Be patient with yourself and the process. Try not to get stuck in anger & look to some of the resources listed to the right of the article.

The reason people say they don't care because they already gave the money to God is because they have to justify their devotion to MP & CStone. If they really opened their eyes to what is going on, they would have to do something about it & step into the painful world of deprogramming their minds to the false teaching they sit under.

The pastors there, all of them, have to keep the appearance of blessing going so as to keep the sheep giving. The sheep ought to consider & ask themselves how the pastors have become so wealthy at the expense of struggling people in the church who give their all in hopes of reaping a bountiful blessing. Then when these same struggling individuals ask for help, they are told CStone is not a bank & are given a token $20 gift card to Meijer's to go buy what they need. What a joke. Or better yet, MP guilts the members into helping them because that's what they are supposed to do. "The church isn't a place to come & get your needs met." What Bible is he reading?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Part 2 to Anon 7:16 PM,

Sporting a Lexus is no indication of spirituality or blessing, especially among christians. Again, that is what MP & the others want you to believe. There are secular people everywhere who drive expensive cars & live in expensive houses & know nothing of God & his blessings.

The need to drive fancy cars says more about them & their flesh than it says about God & his blessing. The Aposlte Paul labored so as not to burden the early church.

As for Jesus being wealthy, that's a great false teaching to keep the people giving. Yes, he had a treasurer, but Jesus certainly didn't live lavishly & Judas held the silver as payment for betraying Jesus. As for them gambling for his garments, that was all a part of the humiliation they perpetrated on Jesus, not necessarily an indication to show that he was wealthy. And yes, He was "rich" & became poor for our sake. Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. I don't think Jesus becoming poor had anything to do w/his financial status when he was about spiritual matters.

And how about Matt. 6:19-21 - Do not lay up treasures for yourselves...for where your treasure is there your heart will be also. It is obvious to see where Mp's focus on his treasure has taken him. Somehow either MP overlooks those passages or twists them to fit his money-making theology. Jesus was pretty clear about those things & there is no deep "revelation" needed on that.

So, be encouraged & try to find a church to fellowship in if you don't have one. The natural inclination after leaving CStone is to get stuck on the why's & wheretofores of all that you have now had your eyes opened to. It is disbelief much like one experiences after losing a loved one. It is one of many stages of grief & loss you will go through. Get in the Word for yourself and let God hold you in His arms of love in the meantime. We never got much of the love of God messages at CStone, just a lot of guilt ridden suck it up & do it MP's way messages because after all he thinks his way is the only way to "kingdom living, order & authority" & that is a scary thought.

Well, let's see, things appear back to be back to normal at the Stone. Derrick Thomas continues to lead worship and Robert Pitts is PREACHING this morning in his brother's absense (he is in Ghana). Even Kathy said what a great job he did bringing the word. Meanwhile, this blog has slowed down both in articles, posts and hits. It appears all is back to normal at Jonestown . . . er, I mean the Stone.

  26. it makes me want to puke knowing rp is up there leading the people, especially the ones i became to know well. he is such a walking cliche. i guess you really can get away with whatever you want at cc. i'm sure the flock was hooting and hollering for him, while feeling denial inside. his messages were always awful anyway. he is like a substitute teacher without a clue. someone needs to tell him to cut his hair also, not because long hair isn't cool on guys, just not on him. he looks like a tool. whoever their eyes are on this site, you can tell him that. i honestly can't see how any woman would be attracted enough to that to want to be a mistress. there must have been some financial perks to that affair or she lacks some real self-confidence. i don't want to sound like a jerk, but i feel like they are getting away with a crime, and this is my only way to vent. i guess it says a lot to me knowing i went there for almost five years and i can't tell you a single message that really moved me now that i see the light. in the end, it was just years of "my way or the highway" and "everybody is obliged to fatten my wallet". what a joke.

  28. To Givin' the stone a pass (and others tuning in):

    Part 1--
Let me respond to you by sharing some of the author’s thoughts on “Life after Cornerstone”.

First of all, we never created this blog with the motivation of seeking “numbers” or “platform fame”. That’s old Cornerstone methods of defining success. I will say however, I certainly never expected it to reach 22k…that’s for sure. Our intention was to simply provide a place to help people begin to recover sound doctrine, and to share their experiences in doing so. (Hence the articles defining spiritual abuse, personal testimonies, false prophets, proper judging, etc.) The big testimony is –there IS LIFE after Cornerstone…period. For each of us individually, that new life may begin before or after the doors are shut. Either way it plays out, there is LIFE.

Secondly, we prayerfully consider what articles to write and publish. Most of them are rather “meaty”; we like for people to read them and pray about what is shared. We are aware that there may be a few who seek only the latest social news at the ‘Stone…for those individuals I say –please don’t short change yourself in this season.

For those who just want to read the comments because they are still in limbo, that’s fine! There is no pressure [here] to express your agreement. We understand that people need time to sort through all the years. That should be expected. However, we DO want everyone to judge things for themselves and think OBJECTIVELY. Something we ALL have to learn to do after leaving. The last thing any “cult” survivor needs, is someone else TELLING THEM WHAT TO THINK.

So (if inquiring minds want to know)….No, we do not tune into the “live” services and then decide to write “attack” articles to combat Michael’s latest series. We are not in the mud with Cornerstone, nor in battle against them. The motivation here isn’t to publish weekly articles to “slam” Michael with and then win the “I told you so” prize at the end. To be quite frank, does anyone win?? This is sad (really) to even to find ourselves in such a place, where we are having to recover from a leader (we all loved and admired) and his abusive methods. But, my friend..it is what it is and the beat goes on.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Part 2--
With that being said, “Givin’ the Stone a Pass”…I think what you are expressing here is genuine FRUSTRATION. I understand my friend. You find a blog and are glad to see someone FINALLY exposing the madness; simultaneously you hear of leaders facing divorces, affairs, pastors and other good people leaving, etc. So…you expect “any moment” JUDGMENT will arrive! Then silence…..looks like everything is back to the way it was?! When will this roller coaster ride be over?! Trust me…I understand.

It can be a frustrating thing to know what's really going on at 1520 Reynolds Rd. and wonder why God hasn’t brought down the fire on them by now. But it's only frustrating IF your perception is FOCUSED on "appearances". Think again, appearances are deceiving. *Sometimes judgment is quick and sometimes judgment is progressive…much like a curse.

We already have God's written Word and therefore we can exercise judgment on what leaders teach. However, God is the one who controls the "exact date" the doors will close to that leader's ministry. I wonder HOW MANY TIMES Michael drove intoxicated BEFORE getting arrested with a DUI? I believe grace is extended to all, but eventually man must decide to become EMPOWERED by it..not use it as a “COVER UP”. I believe once man USES this VERY grace to preach damage control messages; the clock begins ticking and the Holy Spirit begins leading members to leave.

Friend, some men go to their grave with their deception; others are caught in their earlier stages. But BOTH hold true to this -Judgment delayed is never judgment denied. Always remember that. Best believe, that Michael and Robert Pitts have been weighed, and they are found wanting.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes , tick tock, tick tock. The night season being preached by RP & how when God takes something away, he gives you something better. The night is always darkest before the dawn, but joy comes in the morning.

Seems to me the exact same message was preached by MP just before he was arrested for his indecent exposure just after CStone moved into the building on Reynolds Rd. It was as if he was preparing us for it. Who could forget a message like that followed by his arrest? Then came all of the publicity & having to defend MP & come up w/stories about how he was set up & people didn't want his church in Maumee b/c it was racially mixed & he was being attacked for his next level of promotion. We heard it all, the 1st of many arrests we would have to endure public humiliation for & hostile comments from family, coworkers & friends.

HMMMMM....could something be ready to happpen again. What could RP have been preparing us for & setting the stage for? Is someone leaving? What lurks in the bushes & why can't it be honestly told rather than delivered in code through a "propehtic message" of new revelation?

Think hard my friends & look not at the good, but rather the character & integrity of the men you follow as bishops & leaders of a church. "Good is everywhere". Does good things happening in a place make it biblically sound? No, I think not. Do not mistake "good" for the fruit of the Holy Spirit which is peaceable and yields self control.

Hear ye, hear ye, judge not by your feelings & the good one supposedly sees happening in My name, but judge ye according to My Word. For many a man will say see what I have done for you, but I will say, I never knew you. All that is done in My name is not of Me. So listen & hear, take heed for all is not as it appears. Seek first my kingdom, not man's kingdom set up for man's glory & power. Now is the hour to seek Me with all of your heart & draw unto to Me in Spirit & truth & not look to fleshly services & feel good messages that promise things not of Me & My Word. Many a false prophet has gone forth in the land today speaking of promise of money & promotions and increase. These things are not of Me. The increase I desire is the increase of your love & intimacy with Me your Savior & Lord. My Son has paid the price for all you have need of. There is no seed you can sow, no word of prophecy that you will receive money in My Name or promotions. That is man's voice appealing to your flesh for their gain. Take heed, I care for your very soul & now is the time to judge all things righteously by My Word & not by the feel good fleshly appearances of man, for deception dwells in the land today. Return to Me & the purity of My Word, not the word that goes forth filled with "man's revelation" that is not My revelation. All that appears as Mine is not so. I am sifting & shaking all that is not of Me. For perilous times will come as My Word says & you will have need of faith & knowledge of My true voice, not false prophetic utterances that appeal to flesh. Take heed for I desire your intimacy with me. I am a jealous God & want you to long for Me as you long for the spectacular show of men's giftings & anointings. Return to Me & shun vain and fleshly happenings that appear as if they are of Me & My Spirit. I know all who are Mine & there is a different spirit in the land today. Do not be deceived for I am not to be mocked. What a man shall sow, that shall he reap. If he sows to the flesh, he shall reap of the flesh & all that is not of Me shall fall by the side. Hear what My Spirit says for I desire your intimacy; I long for you to seek Me as you seek "revelation" from men whose hearts are not toward Me, for I look to the heart of man & not what he declares to do in My name, says the Lord.

And, yes, you are right . . . I am frustrated. Not just with MP and the time it has taken for the teflon preacher to experience the type of judgment he has brought on others . . . but with the absolute blind sheeple that empower and enrich him continually. It's just making me crazy but I appreciate your positive approach and your work on this blog. Thanks.

  32. Now, now Anonymous 1:53 PM. No one is an ex yet. Have some faith. Maybe they will reconcile & live happily ever after. And you know about rumors - just stick to the facts. So far no divorces as of yet.

And yes, it is sad if all of the tales of extramarital affairs by Derrick & Robert are true. Pray for their wives who may soon be ex-wives. As a matter of principal, both men should step down from ministry for more than just 2 weeks to get their lives in order. But alas, it is the great & mighty CStone you are dealing with & apparently certain biblical principles and proper order according to God's Word does not apply to them. They create their own protocol & order to follow & make stuff up like David had a protocol anointing because he stayed with the sheep until he was called out to serve as king. Where is chapter & verse on a protocal anointing?? No where. But there is chapter & verse as to what to do with christians who are out of order & refuse to listen to correction, particularly those who serve as pastors, bishops etc. Yet again, they overlook those verses & make things up as they go & chastise all who don't agree as being off & disgruntled when we are merely adhering to God's Word, not the twisted words of MP & RP.

And of course we all know that no one is perfect, so I guess that gives all of us a free pass. The problem is that the Bible has a lot to say about those who PRACTICE sin which is a far different matter than sinning as a part of our human nature & asking God for forgiveness; PRACTICING sin is a far different matter as practice is repeated behavior that eventually becomes a part of one's daily routine & soon becomes second nature.

It is a sad testament of individuals who preach about blessing & increase & new levels & out with the old once you have tasted of the new. WOW...think about that with Robert & Derrick - they take that concept to a whole new level with their wives - out with the old & in with the new...it's a new season you know. "Sometimes God takes things from you to give you something better". Yeah and sometimes the blessing God gives you, you make light of & abuse & misuse & it leaves your life because you take it for granted & God has nothing to do with it, just your own fleshly behavior & wrong desires gone mad; but alas MP & RP must always spiritualize things to make it sound like new revelation & prophetic words that God is speaking about the consequences of their misdeeds. I guess it makes their lascivious lifestyles & the consequences thereof easier to minimize & accept.

Just something to think about as what is done it darkness shall be brought into the light. Pray for those who yet remain at the Stone as perilous times are ahead & all is not going to be good...

  33. Is it bad I would just like to see them pack their bags and move their casino to another location, preferably Ghana. I don't wish these fake preachers/bishop on anyone, but it truly revolts me to know they are doing what they do here in Toledo/Maumee/surrounding area. I feel like they are a jab in the religious ora here in the area. Unless they are cc members, which I used to be, people pretty much balk, gag, laugh, or react however one would when speaking of something terrible. I'm not an expert of picking out what is false doctrine or not. I just knew, inside, there was something wrong with the approach, especially, in these tough economic times, when they have a certain number in mind (Huskins) and it is 100 or more dollars. I was floored. They have a pseudo-ATM machine now, where you can donate with only a debit card, and people were running to the thing, as if it was spitting out money or hope or blessing. It's one of the things in life I will never understand. I spent so many services looking to God and hoping my life would change. I wasn't asking for money. I just had a lot of issues, instead I left with less money and anger. I am getting over it, but I just feel so deeply for the others that are locked in at cc without a clue, brainwashed, afraid, bullied, or whatever. I step back and wonder, "How long is God going to let this happen?". I've lost a lot of faith because of it. It has been going on here, all the while growing, for almost twenty years. It's just sad. I never thought of "men of God" as those who live uber-lavish lifestyles, but apparently if nothing is ever done, from God, to stop it, then why not. It makes me sick. I grew up in the Catholic Church and our head priest was a man I looked up to. He loved what he did, was humble, and very personable. What do you get with a church like cc? A headship that is rude, selfish, greedy, and spoiled. It makes me wonder. Where is He? Why does He let this go on for so long? Was this what Christ wanted? I read the Bible and study

  34. I got cut-off. I was pondering whether Christ would really want to be represented by a person like MP. I think not, at least the Jesus I came to know.

  35. To Anon 4:38 pm - PART 1

My friend, you ask the very realistic question we've all had to ask a thousand times here: "How long is God going to let this happen?" or "Why is God allowing them to stay in business?" If I could bend your ear for a minute, let me highlight some thoughts that might help in (y)our journey...

When we pose these questions, I think it's helpful to remember that we usually pose them only from our human understanding of the matter... We know there is rampant sin in their camp, we know the leaders are fully involved in it (or smothering it at best), and we know people do remain often blinded both by the "god of this world" (see 2 Cor 4:1-6) and also by their own imposed self-deception (from hearing the Word of God, yet choosing to not fully follow it). But because WE have since come to the light of our senses and chosen to see Truth with unveiled eyes, because WE now know many of the facts of the ongoing disaster, because WE have learned some things about ourselves and how amazing it is we stayed for so long, we now feel GOD must be motivated to "take action on our behalf". It is however, rather presumptuous to assume that just because WE now see (still through a glass darkly, albeit) the Light, that GOD "must now be ready to act" due to our own recent enlightenment. After all, hasn't God been COMPLETELY AWARE of EVERY DETAIL from the very beginning of time until now even? NOTHING is taking the Almighty by surprise here, friends. Let's look into the Word for more details...

From New Testament examples, we see that people of faith in God's Word (His Son) could indeed move His hands to act ON THEIR OWN BEHALF (blind Bartimaeus, Woman with the issue of blood, Centurion's servant healed, etc.) but instances even of the early apostles being able to simply "move God" TO ACT IN JUDGMENT toward those who directly opposed Him are few- and quite specifically done only by Peter and Paul, I believe (Ananias/Sapphira in Acts 5, Elymas the sorcerer in Acts 13).

For Jesus' words with his own disciples, look at Luke 9 (keeping in mind Samaria had their own "home-brewed" religious system, according to the testimony of the woman at the well in John 4; it was this religious pride in their alternate, false worship system that really hated the Jews who worshipped at the temple in Jerusalem)

51 Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He (Jesus here) steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem, 52 and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him. 53 But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem. 54 And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?"
55But He turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. 56For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them." And they went to another village.

Amazing, huh? Even Jesus Himself did not want to detract from His primary focus and steadfast mission of "not destroy(ing) men's lives, but to save them." God's primary desire is STILL for "all men to be saved AND to come to the knowledge of the Truth" (1 Tim. 2:4) I said all that to say this...

Seeing a false ministry-- one that has "taken the Lord's Name" in vain, who adulterate the Word of God on a weekly basis to cover their own private profiteering racket-- seeing that thing "shut down" or "closed for business" is NOT the actual Judgment of God, but would rather be (as a POSSIBLE choice of God) a RESULT of His Righteous Judgment ALREADY pronounced.

    ReplyDelete
  36. TO ANON 4:38 pm -- PART 2

What we should keep in mind is that God has ALREADY JUDGED those who refute Truth, reject true Righteousness, despise the Spirit of Grace, play the harlot and prostitute giftings, and then rape the Sheep financially, spiritually and so on. HOW and WHEN, HE ALONE chooses to MANIFEST the RESULTS of that very Judgment is HIS BUSINESS ALONE! Look at John 12 here:

    John 12:28 ff:
Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. 29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him. 30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. 31 NOW IS the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. 32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

NOW IS THE JUDGMENT OF THIS WORLD: NOW SHALL THE PRINCE OF THIS WORLD BE CAST OUT (again, AT HIS OWN CROSS He Judged the very enemy of our souls. See also John 16:11) But is Satan still operating against the saints of the Most High today?? Yes... but only AS A JUDGED, CONVICTED CRIMINAL awaiting his FINAL SENTENCING.

And I'll close with some highlights from 2 Peter... (please read chapters 2-3 in their entirety... The Holy Spirit can say it much better than you or I can!)
2 Peter 2:1-3 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; FOR A LONG TIME THEIR JUDGMENT HAS NOT BEEN IDLE, AND THEIR DESTRUCTION DOES NOT SLUMBER. v9 : then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and TO RESERVE THE UNJUST UNDER PUNISHMENT FOR THE DAY OF JUDGMENT, 10 and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority.

2 Peter 3: 7ff But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. ---14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation….. 17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

Saints, God is only allowing things to “seemingly go unchecked” for a season. Whether that season is days, weeks, months or years is NOT our call, it’s HIS. Focus your faith on your Master, Jesus Christ, the Righteous and follow Peter’s admonishment to “be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless”. The Day of the Lord is coming, for all wicked and ungodly men… not just those we’ve had the “privilege” of being led astray by for a very short while, “as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.” (I Peter 2:25) (umm, that's Jesus, by the way, not "yo bishop" ;-)

  39. Givin' the Stone a pass . . . .December 14, 2010 at 10:12 AM

I have spoken to a number of people who were thinking about leaving the Stone (or its affiliates) who have seemingly backtracked now that the "furor" seems to have died down. As I don't have one (meaning a single, concise "ah-ha" moment) compelling reason why I left (it was a collision of things), what was the defining moment and reason (not gory details necessarily, but reasoning) that caused forum members to make the painful decision to leave? This may help those that still are on the fence or who's outrage has died down . . . .

    ReplyDelete
  40. GREAT QUESTION -"Givin' the Stone a Pass"...thanks friend for posting!

A lot of current members look to others (they trust) and ask "So, why DID you leave?"

Often times people ask because they are wanting to find that "ah-ha" answer and/or confirm what they've already been seeing themselves. (I agree, it is usually a collision of reasons that leads one to finally hit those exit doors.)

*The truth of the matter is: ALMOST ALL notice things that aren't "right" over a period of time. However, they usually dismiss it and wait for some “AUDIABLE VOICE" from God saying "LEAVE NOW." Again, the Holy Spirit doesn’t drive us..He leads us!

Why else do you think He is showing you these things???? Because what He is REVEALING TO YOU is what grieves Him. But, you’ll always have those few who are waiting for something “even worse” to happen…my question is “HOW BAD DOES THE SIN/DISORDER HAVE TO GET BEFORE YOU’LL LEAVE?”

    ReplyDelete
  41. •Here’s the Deal on LEAVING:

#1) GOD HAS ALREADY SPOKEN TO US IN HIS WORD and He expects US to use it as a guideline to judge what to do.
(Read scriptures on how the Apostles handled disputes within the church / qualifications of a Bishop / dealing with sin properly in the Church) DOES IT LINE UP WITH WHAT YOU ARE SEEING??

#2) The Holy Spirit STIRS truth within us –so we MUST TRUST the voice of Truth and RESPOND back by asking Him: "WHY AM I seeing this?" “What do I do with this information Lord?”

#3) I hear people say: "Well the Bishop is going to handle the problems the way God tells him to handle them...so I have to trust that." What?!
I SAY: GOD ISN'T GOING TO TELL THE BISHOP ANYTHING THAT CONTRADICTS HIS WORD.
(Again, what instructions does the NT give us on handling disputes/sin within the church?)

#4) “Well, no church is PERFECT?” There is a difference between PERFECTION and INTEGRITY! While NO person/leader is perfect…they should TAKE OWNERSHIP of their mistakes, repent, and SEEK TO RESTORE. Not hide them or cover-up for them by creating “damage control” messages, and slapping “in the name of the Lord” to “spiritualize” everything away.

  42. Givin' the Stone a pass . . . .December 14, 2010 at 1:43 PM

Does anyone other than me find it odd (tongue in check) that C-Stone leadership criticizes EVERYTHING that is not controlled or perceived as totally loyal to them, BUT preaches, teaches and publishes "grace" and total lack of judgment when it comes to their actions. This one-way "protocol" and "grace" is abusing the scripture and is hypocritical. This is, IMO, what needs to be more fully explained and discussed as SPEAKING TRUTH has initiated above.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Exactly! Please think about this friends…

#1) WHY is it that Michael and Robert DEMAND UNLIMITED GRACE from their MEMBERS...BUT YET MEMBERS ARE NOT GIVEN ANY GRACE when God simply tells them it’s time to leave??

#2) Why is every member that leaves VILINIZED? Cannot anyone SIMPLY LEAVE because they are Led by the Spirit to do so?

#3) Why have SO many spirit-filled, solid men and women of God left Cornerstone? Why have faithful Pastors left as well?? Are we all “off”?? (Stop believing the tired lie that God is simply “weeding people out”)

#4) How can you be called to “dig wells in other nations”…when you have NOT been a good steward in your OWN CITY? Has Michael and Robert not had 20 yrs. by now?? Unfortunately, the City of Toledo has not been impacted by Cornerstone Church in years.

It's time to call it out as it is friends.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Wow, great ponderings by Givin' the Stone a pass & Speaking the Truth in Love. Seems to me there is no grace for members who leave or for those who wish to step down from their ministry posts because they are exhausted or have family matters, not to mention jobs they need to attend to. Apparently those realities do not exist for MP or RP as we can all well see with the disintegration of RP's marriage.

As mentioned in a previous post when a family member died & someone in ministry had to step down for a time to deal with the matter, no one from "headship" seemed to care & only had harsh words for the person "neglecting" their ministry duties. How sad & uncaring to have your "bishop, pastors", etc. who can't even take the time to send an encouraging word to you when you have lost a family member. I would not sit under such harsh task masters as that.

Really people, it's time to wake up. How long can you make excuses for the "headship" at CStone & continue to say they aren't perfect? No kidding - who of us is? That is a lame excuse for continued sin & total lack of integrity. When integrity goes out the door, so does trust. How can you trust leaders who continually cover up & blame the devil or others for attacking them, when in reality they are caught up in their own fleshly ways run amuck.

What more do you need to finally say this is not what the Word of God says about how pastors or bishops should lead their lives & care for their sheep? Seems to me that their expectations of unlimited grace only extends to themselves.

You don't need to hear from God as to when to leave. Use the brain the good Lord gave you as He has already shown you things that are not right. Why would you wnat to sit under such a perverse spirit? As MP always says, what is on the head flows down.

That is why I left. I sensed the perverse spirit in the house. Certain things were overlooked which were glaring and I could never understand why men of Gawd who were so "prophetic" and always had a word for someone, never had a word of correction for the sin in the house not just among headhsip, but among members run amuck who had leadership positions or worked on maintenance staff?

I for one was no longer willing to sit in a house where the Spirit of God had clearly left the buliding and was replaced with fleshly giftings void of the Spirit. What appeared to be the Spirit moving was nothing more than a good show from the platform designed to make people feel good and keep coming back for more of the gospel show & promises of wealth & higher levels of God only knows what, because these levels never manifested themselves. The only higher levels that manifested were guest ministries coming in to elevate MP & lift him higher at every HOE conference.

Open your eyes people for you are in danger of making MP your god & at the end of the day, he is all about him & will think nothing of you if something better comes along. He will disguise it with a prophet coming in to tell everyone God has called him to greater things. And the prophet will "prophesy" & everyone will get their Holy Ghost goose bumps on & run & jump & get excited at the further elevation of MP as the anointed one & how he is called to dig wells in other places.

Stay if you want to, but it doesn't take hearing from God to see that the flesh has taken over the Spirit at the Stone.

    ReplyDelete
  45. To RM,

It's been awhile since I have been on this blog.

A lot to take in & digest.

My comment to you is that I heard from a reliable source that MP is building a house in Australia & funny thing, he just happens to be there now.

Could it be he is preparing to leave?? Perhaps he sees the writing on the wall & is preparing an exit. No need for a prophet to come to town and prophesy his leaving. Maybe he'll share the big news at the magnificent $1000 New Year's Eve, Let's Make a Deal service. If you give this much or that much, has God got a deal for you...sow your seed...I have a need...

If this is true about MP & Australia, the blind sheep are so deceived. MP has a platform to bring in the prophets and make everything appear as if it is from God. Why can't he ever just be honest and say he wants to do something & not always cloak it in prohecies or visions form God?

Better yet, why won't he allow others to just be honest when they want to leave rather than chastising them publicly/privately or guilting & manipulating them to stay by preaching fear from the platform as to what will happen if they leave their "covering".

    Get real...

It all just leaves me scratchin' my head.

    ReplyDelete
  46. If you were to carefully pay attention to the overall message this past Sunday, it is a precursor to him getting ready to make a move. He talked about digging wells and how Isaac would dig a well and then others would want it and he would dig another well "somewhere else".

It's an easy move for MP. Him and his brother have been stockpiling money for years and funneling it through RE investments. To have the gull to craftily set this whole thing up and then take an offering wrapped in guilt about how it will help the kids in Ghana....blah blah blah.

MP is so steeped in manipulation and twisting the truth it's amazing. Look for more set up messages so when he makes his move he makes it appear to be God.

    ReplyDelete
  47. This move he is getting ready to make is beyond obvious. He will use OT scripture to justify the move so as to salvage whatever revenue stream he has in Toledo. He will make it appear that since "people" are not honoring and receiving his gifting, that God's will is for him to go dig a well somewhere else.

There is no upside in this Toledo Church. The economy is getting worse and the monthly offerings must be down quite a bit so go dig a well where the economy is not getting hit that hard and where you can siphon more money from people with larger average salaries or go to third world countries and preach false hopes to people who are desperate to live the american dream of wealth and prosperity.

This is a business folks. MP and RP have hoodwinked everyone and they will most likely get the last laugh when they go dig a well in another place.

Benny Hinn did it, TD Jakes did it, they all make this shift once people start to see they are merely charlatans.

Get ready folks...your next level is coming alright....

    ReplyDelete
  48. I knew something was up a long time ago, when MP preached a similar message. It is shame, because I truly believe they are leaving for economic reasons, which will "shift" in their favor elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I do wonder, though, if he will start another church there. If so, I hope the good people down under will do their research. Maybe we could popularize this blog there somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I do believe, if he leaves, which I truly hope he does, the sheeple will see it only as a good thing. They will see it as a move of God, and only think of how great he was. It scares me to think about who is next in line, though, because I just see it happening all over. The good, and I do mean good, people at cc are so warped on what to believe and follow, they will only be able to follow another MP.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The real message he is really preaching is that he goes to dig wells and when the water runs out (Toledo) he goes somewhere else to dig another well.

My guess is RP or Kennedy will be the "set man" in the house and he will focus on Mexico because third world countries are a hot spot for his message of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow but never get there messages.

Again, when these guys get a bad name in an area they look to fresh pastures to rape new sheep. Larry Lea and Roberts Liar-don and Carlton Pearson and the list goes on and on....

    ReplyDelete
  52. You guys will jump at anything. There have been rumors in the past of Michael leaving, but it is usually just wishful thinking. I don't think there is reason for him to leave yet, CC may be shrinking in size and money, but don't forget the network, nor his ability to get people to part with their money. I know everyone here thinks this site has MP all worked up and worried, but I don't think it really does (I think the discussion at Toledo Talk which was more scandal oriented had him more worried), I think he was much more worried that someone was going to come forth with really damaging information, than he is about this site trying to "salvage the faith of those who have left". And I understand the creators of this site wanting to take the higher road, and not foccus on the scandals and petty stuff, but MP isn't worried about going head to head against your theology, in his eyes you are lay people who don't fully understand what God is doing.

    ReplyDelete
  53. @ Sam I am:
In regards to Michael Pitts, we’re really not concerned with his opinion of the blog or whether he "worries" about it or takes it seriously. The blog is not for him and I certainly don’t think we should ever minimize the efforts of helping folks (in transition) to recover/salvage their faith.

What is the purpose of exposing a false "minister" and his teachings, if you do not ALSO offer the truth of God's Word to replace the deception? Should we not repair the walls??

Sound doctrine (theology) is an integral part of building the people of God..so they will not become subject to another false teacher. Thus repeating the cycle again…

Exposing the teachings and leadership methods of a False Prophet is EXPOSING THEM. It's up to our visitors to share their REAL LIFE experiences/testimonies.

Time for people to speak out --which is what our next article will be all about btw. Stay tuned!

    ReplyDelete
  54. To Sam I Am,

Time will tell if as you say we are just jumping at anything. Yes, there may have been rumors before, but there have also been very clear signs as to the blatant sin & false doctrine going forth at CStone.

As for the network, those people pay MP to be a part of the network & to rub shoulders with him & his "ministry". They can follow him wherever he goes & with today's technology, staying connected is easier than ever before. Believe me, MP has his little nest egg stored & when the time comes, he will not think twice about leaving & will cloak it as a move of God & will have another false prophet on hand to give a word about his leaving.

Get real folks, what more do you need to see & hear from God that all is not as it appears to be in the land of MP?

    ReplyDelete
  55. annon 10:50

The fact that they pay to be part of the network is one of the reasons he doesn't have to leave and try to start over somewhere else, he has income coming in, (and he doesn't want to pull a Paula white, when she divorced and left her church things went down hill fast, shes doing better now thanks to some of her ministry pals like Jakes). He also gets paid to travel to other churches (Jakes can make 30-50 K a visit MP should be able to pull down 1--20 K at the right confrence, plus he Can reign over the network even if CC stays exactly where it is.

As for the sin and false doctrine, except for a few scattered web sites like this one, no one is making noise, MP has been a joke in toledo for years and yet CC and MP continue on. I Remember hearing about false teachings with each bout with the law, and intermittently since but it dioesn't phase as many people as you think. Jimmy Swaagert (the poster child of sinning preachers (in the 1980's) has almost as strong a ministery now as when he was at his peak). False teachings are popular, because it tells people what they really want to hear, you tithe a little bit of your money and God will give you great riches, either now or in the afterlife, and of course if he doesn't its because you aren't praying hard enough, or giving enough, or your not fully planted, or your following what you want and not what God wants.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Just food for thought...
At least Jimmy Swaggert admitted and took responsibility of his sin -seeking repentance and restoration. Yes, it was after he was caught --however, at least he didn't use DAMAGE CONTROL MESSAGES to cover up for the fact or tell his members that the police dept. were all apart of an elaborate "ATTACK" to keep him from the next level. Let's not forget the "local witches" who seasonally cast “SPELLS” excuse either.
I thought that as born-again believers we were granted ALL power and authority through Jesus Christ...?

  58. Anyone know of any churches in SE Michigan/NW OH that have the same early Cornerstone years annointing? Ready to move on but haven't found any decent churches.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Speaking truth in love: I had never heard the witches thing before, I'm sure my wiccan friends would find that amusing, given that most of them would have no idea who MP is, and their main issue with him if they did is that his professed beliefs and actions are incongruent with each other, they actually would be more inclined to let Karma take care of him.

Anon 9:09- I'll be honest it is very hard to find a church with the same energy and intensity as CC, especially one with as good a music ministry. But I think that also highlights part of the problem, that people equate that intensity and energy with following Gods word and will. and that it shows great faith, and annointing, when in fact it just shows that a man can geek a whole lot of people up without strengthing their relationship wiith God.
Part of leaving CC, has to include finding and developing your own relationship with God, and your own understanding of his word (I am continually amazed at how little most christians know and understand about their own religion and the bible). You should seek out a church that helps you connect with people and your own faith. Atheist can feel the power when a room is going nuts with energy, and intenisty, and everyone is getting all worked up, but the faithful can feel the power of God when they walk into an empty Church, or even when they are not at church at all.
I went to church at Cross Roads in SE Michigan a few times after leaving CC, its very casual and the music tends to be a bit country rock, but the people were very nice, and they seemed to be a growing church, and seemed to have a good ministry, and mission, and suggest that you check them out.

  60. Several years ago when it seemed like MP was going to leave, he really was. He was supposed to replace the retiring Dick Bernal until Bernal's son told his daddy that he wanted the kingdom. MP has been done with Toledo for several years and has his exit plan ready. When he goes he will make it look like the will of God. Why wouldn't he? He spins every single other action to look like it is God ordained. Funny how the failed "God ordained" actions never are admitted as failures to follow Go accurately. They just get swept under the carpet. Well, not always. Sometimes the people get blamed for not carrying out the call and letting his mandate fall to the ground. Gotta love the Ministry of Manipulation.

But the masses for the most part don't go for the annointing (oh they may say they do, but most of them wouldn't know an annointing if it was bestowed upon them or taken away from them), they go for the floor show, and when they start looking at other churches thats what they compare, CC's floor show to what ever church their looking at. What then happens is that a church that might actually have a strong annointing and a strong mission, and actually be led by worthy men of God, gets overlooked because they can't compare to the floor show of CC. And that then reinforces to many that CC does have an annointing, its a vicious cycle.

MP would certainly spin the opportunity of moving and taking over a bigger ministry as the will and work of God, and I can see him making a move to do that, because it would be adding on to what he has and he could keep CC here with either RP, the Banks, or Smith running it, with Mp reigning over the network and the new larger ministry. I do not see him leaving CC and trying to start somewhere else from scratch.

Very well said! At the end of the day, it's all about the Message of Jesus Christ. I want to hear Christ preached with the love and conviction of one who truly walks with our Lord. I want to hear of His sufferings, His trials, and how HE overcame! The Body of Christ IS an army of soldiers, empowered and commissioned by the Holy Ghost. It’s time to take our “well-polished” weapons OUT and use them.

So you can keep pushing all your cotton-candy, sugar-coated, pie in the sky messages. But "entertainment" keeps a crowd coming back for a show. Only a message that preaches the Lordship of our Christ, has the power to change a nation. America is sick on its entertainment, sick on its "prosperity". While the world cries out for the REAL message of Hope, our "Bishops" are too busy acting like spoiled celebrities and having “church” for church folks. Demanding $alaries and $pecial accommodations for their appearances. I believe God is rising up true APOSTOLIC leaders who are REAL fathers committed to their generation. We've seen ENOUGH of the "one-night wonders" who donate their seed for a MOMENT of pleasure, but aren't sold-out in their heart to be committed to their role. JESUS was the NT picture of a perfect “Pastor”…

When the PURE GLORY OF GOD hits…no man need “convincing”. When the Power of the Holy Spirit and the authentic LOVE of Christ come pouring out of you –it cannot be denied. Get ready…Now is the time for a true "CHANGING OF THE GUARDS". And there won't be buildings big enough to contain it!
